  • Fountain of Glory Parish holds Thanksgiving service, Sunday, in honour of the selfless, silent philanthropist

Close family members, community leaders and a few associates for few hours abandoned their busy schedules to celebrate the charming and affable Olajide Adeyemo, who turned 60, on Thursday, August 4, 2022.

They all gathered at his secluded palatial home, to give the celebrator, a silent philanthropist, and humanist, who had thought he could have a private, solemn celebration in line with the mood of the nation, a surprise birthday bash.

Unknown to the birthday boy, his siblings, led by one of his sisters, Mrs Romoke Aderibigbe, had ensured that a close circle of associates and friends, had joined his immediate family to celebrate with the celebrator.

She was supported by her elder brother, Mr. Moses Adeyemo, Mrs. Modupeola Abiola, Mrs. Omoyemi Olajugbagbe and Mrs Bolanle Sennaike, who are all siblings of the celebrator. They had gathered with their families to celebrate their elder brother who they fondly call, Olori Ebi. (Family Head).

They were joined virtually by his elder sister, Mrs Titilayo Odumosu, her husband, Mr. Adewale Odumosu, their children, Babafemi, Adedeji, and ‘Leye, and wife, Mrs Bola Adeyemo, his children Joseph and Josephine Adeyemo, and his grandson Judah Adeyemo, all based in the United Kingdom. Judah celebrated his grand dad’s landmark age with a beautiful cake.

Oral poet, EwiBisi added colour to the event as she chanted the family Oriki, the Yoruba oral praise song to the admiration of all.

Senior Pastor of His Mercy Sanctuary Pastor Shadrack led a session of Christian prayers for the celebrant while Chairman of Harmony Estate CDA, Alhaji (Engr) Isa Egbeyemi who was accompanied by his wife, led the session of Muslim prayers for the celebrant. The prayer session was completed by a short prayer session by the celebrator’s mother Mrs Olusola Comfort Adeyemo, who was obviously the happiest host at the short but exciting event.

The Modakeke, Osun State-born Olajide Adeyemo is an accomplished Chartered Estate Valuer and dedicated Church leader, is a bridge builder, humanist, welfarist, and committed friend who is open to all those who knew him.

The birthday bash would move over to the church on Sunday, where a Thanksgiving Service is being put together again as a surprise package by the entire members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Fountain of Glory, 3 Mortune Avenue, Valley Estate, Cement, Lagos, on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in celebration of this uncommon elder who has touched all in various ways.

The Service, which would be presided over by Pastor Ayorinde Omosuwa, is the church’s way of saying thank you to the celebrator whose strides in the annals of the church remains unmatched.

Pastor Omosuwa said the service which is organised as a surprise to the celebrator is to give God all the glory for Elder Olajide Adeyemo’s remarkable journey in life, and will be marked by high praises, wonderful worship, intense prayers, glorious testimonies of the faithfulness of God as well as by the sharing of the Word of God

He said the church would be joined on Sunday by family members, brethren, friends, colleagues associates and well-wishers from across the world, who would join the service via Zoom and other online channels, as many of them are expected to share their testimonies concerning the celebrator, who has significantly and positively impacted the lives of many across the world.
