Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has been elected as the new Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, with Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State as his Vice Chairman.
This decision was made during a meeting of the forum held at the Presidential Lodge in Ibara Housing, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The meeting was attended by governors from various southern states, including Babajide Sanwo-Olu ( Lagos), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Alex Otti (Abia), Godwin Obaseki (Edo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Bassey Otu (Cross River), and Umo Eno (Akwa Ibom). Deputy governors in attendance included Chinyere Ekomaru (Imo), Monday Onyeme (Delta), and Olayide Adelami (Ondo).
The forum has been more or less inactive since the death of former Chairman, Rotimi Akeredolu, in December 2023.
