INEC said voting in the affected areas will resume by 8 am till 12 pm on Sunday February 26, 2023.

It urged all its stakeholders including members of political parties, interagency consultative committee on election security (ICCES) Observers, Nigerian press, INEC staff including all its ad-hoc staff and every one involved in the 2023 general elections.

Sunrise reports that the extension was sequel to the fact that the Youth Corpers posted to these units had refused to report in their areas due to fear of insecurity and the fact that they could only guarantee their readiness when their security was assured by the Nigerian Police Force.
