A human rights advocacy group Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), has officially written the Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Speaker of the state House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa to intervene in the matter of a citizen-Chief Mrs. Dorcas Adeyinka and prevail on the Nigerian Police Force to bring down the frivolous WANTED flagging placed on her.

CHSR in the letter signed by its National President Comrade Alex Omotehinse, pleaded with the Lagos Government to wade into the matter, on the grounds that the woman in question had initially honored the law enforcement’s call in time past and if for clear reasons she could not do same within the time frame given by the security agency now, such should not amount to her been placed on the list of wanted persons.

The group in its submission cited the positive impacts of Adeyinka in the state’s economic growth. which was tied to her philanthropic contribution in empowering the poor and indigent Lagosian.

According to CHSR letter to the Lagos state government, it got the wind of the untoward manner Adeyinka’s fundamental human right was being trampled upon through Dorcas Adeyinka Empowerment Foundation SAVE OUR SOUL complaint letter dated 4th June, 2024.

CHSR note that “the petitioner was invited by Nigeria Police force to Abuja headquarters for investigation which she appeared in person and agreed by all parties that further engagement will be communicated to them but in a shocking turn of events, the Nigeria Police Force declared her WANTED without proper notification or due process as enshrined in the Police acts, code of conduct and ethics not only violated her rights but also perpetuated the cycle of injustice.

“Following careful review of the petition and our subsequent findings, we unraveled an orchestrated ploy to trample on her rights to means of freedom   with regards to false murder allegations, illegal displaying of nude images, conspiracy to indict.

“The latest action of the Nigeria Police Force in declaring her WANTED without due process, shocked and amazed us and the red alert is uncalled for.

“This has gone a long way in affecting the less privileged and suffering Nigerian masses which her foundation is on daily basis taking-off the street to boost economy growth of Lagos State as an Epicenter of the country.
